Attorney Jeanie Zhang was born and raised in the ancient Chinese capital city, Xi’an. Jeanie graduated from the China University of Political Science and Law (a top 3 law school in China). In 2012, Jeanie flew to the United States with two suitcases and enrolled at the Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she obtained her J.D. Even in law school, Jeanie knew immigration would be a major practice area for her career.

Experience

Immigration Experience

Immigration

After gaining hands-on experience in some global immigration law firms, she started her own firm in Austin Texas with one desk, one laptop, and one paralegal. She focused her practice on providing international workforce solutions and compliance advice to corporations and start-up businesses, as well as creative solutions to help foreign nationals, families, professionals, and business entrepreneurs live and work in the U.S. She represented companies in IT, finance, entertainment, real estate, architecture, insurance, healthcare, pre-education schools, restaurant, and auto shops. She also helped a variety of clients from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, Australia, Eastern Europe, Mexico, Honduras, Colombia, Guatemala, and South America. Jeanie loves to dive into complex immigration and compliance issues and come up with creative solutions. After years of practicing in the immigration field, Jeanie finds it rewarding to help employers and individuals secure legal status and work authorization.

As a Chinese immigrant, Jeanie herself has been on F-1 status, H1-B status, and back to F-1 status, before obtaining permanent resident status, so she empathizes and understands her client’s problems personally.

Estate Planning Expertise

When Jeanie was a minor, her family hired an estate planner to create a living trust for her grandmother. When her grandmother passed away, unfortunately, ended in probate simply because that lawyer didn’t fund the trust appropriately. After settling down, Jeanie became interested in estate planning and asset protection and realized how important they are to families with assets, minor children, and pets. Clients came to Springdale with catastrophic asset distribution problems which unfortunately are very hard to solve without certain documents in place before trouble hits. Jeanie and her team launched an estate planning program to help clients avoid time-consuming and costly probate court proceedings. Jeanie and her team often work with busy parents, blended families, business owners, and pet lovers.

Their focus is to help families avoid collapse after the death or illness of a loved one. Their mission is to explain what will happen if certain documents are not in place before trouble strikes. They have advised hundreds of families through the estate planning process, and have ensured families and loved ones stay out of court and out of conflict. They help you prepare for life.

In her free time, she likes to make crafts, hike with her dog “durian” and play tennis.
